Dr Sarfraz Ghauri qualified from Guy’s Dental Hospital in 1990 and ever since has been working as a general dentist at Ghauri Dental Centre. He is joint principal at Ghauri Dental Centre. In the first 10 years he worked at Charing Cross Hospital in the Emergency Team. He implemented BDA Good Practice Scheme in all three of the practices. In 2008 he was awarded Health Superstar, Health Partner of the year by Kensington and Chelsea PCT. He was highly commended in recognition of his excellent contribution to local health services.
Achievements:
• 2012 Ghauri Dental Centre chosen by the HTM- 01- 05 Committee to see how the policy could be updated. 5 leads on policy spent 4 hours at the surgery to see how we comply and what recommendations we made. Most of our recommendations were eventually added to the new policy and the Committee thanked our group for the hands on experience and advice at the ground level.
• 2010 Shepherds Bush Centre awarded Silver Membership of BDA Good Practice Scheme
• 2009 Placed joint third in the UK BDA Good Practice Scheme Practice of the Year Award. The judging panel commended the Practice for services to the community.
• 2009 Dentistry Magazine Award of the year 2009 shortlisting in two categories.
– Best Practice Award of greater London
– Best Team Award work category
• 2008 Worked closely with the PCTs on a number of projects and in recognition was awarded Health Superstar/Health Partner of the Year by Kensington & Chelsea PCT. Was highly commended for excellent contribution to local health services
