Cosmetic Dentistry Solutions
Due to the recent increase in the media focus on a person’s smile, such as TV shows like “Extreme Makeover”, it has made people more aware of how their mouths should look. This has created more public awareness about cosmetic dentistry and its accessibility.
Cosmetic Dentistry is the application of dental procedures such as crowns, bridges, veneers or tooth coloured fillings with the aim of significantly improving the overall aesthetics of your smile. So This is often referred to as a “Smile Makeover”, “Hollywood Smile” or “Wedding Smile.” Having a smile makeover helps to improve the appearance of your smile through one or more cosmetic dentistry procedures and can have a positive impact on an individual’s self-confidence.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Our Cosmetic dentists will work with you to develop an bespopke and affordable treatment plan that will give you the results you desire.
Cosmetic Dentistry May Involve The Following:
The addition of some dental materials to your teeth, for example, fillings and crowns.
Removal of tooth structure, for example, enameloplasty.
Straightening of the teeth for the purpose of a better smile with orthodontics.
Before we can carry out any treatment, there are certain core principles that we need to adhere to in order to meet the final objectives of any type of dentistry. These include:
Establishing natural tooth forms and surfaces that are invisible to see
Colour and texture to form natural-looking restorations
Correct occlusion patterns for the specific patient to remove interferences
Harmonious periodontal tissues
Protection of tooth structure
Veneers
is a technique used to correct crowding in the mouth, covering badly broken teeth, badly stained teeth, reshape teeth or closing up gaps.
They are also used to increase the dimension of the tooth, thicken them, make them squarer or longer. Thin slices of porcelain called veneers are shaped and coloured to correspond to the existing teeth.
The veneer is bonded onto the front surface of the tooth using an adhesive bonding material. The advantage of this treatment is that only a minimal amount of drilling is needed.
Teeth Whitening:
When you meet people for the first time, one of the first things that you will notice is their smile. The darkening colour of your teeth is all part of the ageing process.
Teeth start to change colour from teenage years onward. One of the most common cosmetic procedures to rectify this problem is teeth whitening. Whitening is ideal for people who suffer from stained teeth as a result of consuming curries, red wine, tea, coffee or tobacco.
It is safe as long as the whitening gel does not touch your gums otherwise irritation or sensitivity will occur.
Types Of Teeth Whitening
A: Laser whitening – also known as power whitening is a type of teeth whitening system that our Dental Practitioners can provide. A whitening agent is painted onto your teeth and then light (laser) is shone onto them to activate the whitening process.
At Ghauri Dental Centre we use the renowned Zoom Advance Technology System which is a form of laser whitening. The dentist will use a stronger whitening gel than is used for home whitening.
This method is used to whiten all the teeth at the same time. The whitening gel will touch the teeth for less time than with home whitening kit and your dentist may protect your gums.
The dentist will paint the whitening agent onto the teeth and shine a special light on them. The whitening agent is washed off with water after completion. Your dentist will make a note of your tooth colour using model teeth in different shades before they treat you.
Look at the colour match yourself before the treatment, so you can compare it to the colour after the treatment.
B: Home Zone whitening system – For this type of treatment, your dentist will give you a whitening gel to use at home in a tray that fits closely around your teeth.
The tray makes sure that the gel does not irritate your gums. You will need to place the tray in your mouth for several hours on several occasions, as instructed by your dentist probably over a few days.
Your dentist will need a Putty-like material to make moulds of your mouth (called “impressions”) so a dental technician can make the tray fit. At your next appointment, your dentist will check the tray fits and show you how to place the whitening gel in the tray at home.
